For me it was "we found a 4 cm inoperative squamous cell carcinomas at the base of your tongue.
You'll need radiation and chemotherapy."
The good news the last PET Scan showed no signs of cancer.
It's been almost a year.

It's still popular in the Northeast. My company is based in Manhattan and I get back there often and I'm amazed at how many people on the streets are smoking. I fly into Newark and after picking up luggage at baggage claim and heading curbside to grab a car service there are dozens of people lined up outside puffing away like there is no tomorrow. It's such a filty, disgusting habit and as someone mentioned, anyone who still smokes with all of the information out there about the risks is a fool.

Friday night friends and I were watching the Wisconsin-Indiana BB game at a sportsbar with both an indoor and outdoor bar. There was one man at the outside bar working on an iPad and I bet he didn't go 20 seconds between cigs the whole game, it was one after another.

Still very predominant in Alabama.

I actually commented on this yesterday. We were in BR for the weekend and I noticed someone in the car next to us smoking. After being in BR for three days, that was the first one I noticed. Any time I go anywhere where I live in AL, there's smoke coming out of almost every car.

Trashy gonna trash I guess.

Not just them, seems like every professor at LSU from the Middle East and India smokes as well.

I have worked for a tobacco wholesale company for 15 years. Cigarette sales have decreased 2-3% each year for the last 5 years. Other nicotine deliver devices are on the rise about the same. Between snuff, e-cigs and vaping, this makes up the difference. All of it is trashy. I have never done any of it in my life. Taxes drive the price but doesn't effect consumption like you might think. The consumer looks for a cheaper way of getting their fix. RYO(roll your own) is booming in rural areas(non-weed related).
