Only one of those is 100% guaranteed to end all life and also 100% guaranteed to happen, the sun dying.

A virus that is created in a lab that has been modified to be truly deadly like 50%+ mortality rate will happen one day
If you don't think releasing covid-19 was a test run for something truly terrible to come I don't know what to tell you

This is not extinction, but I do think the planet ends back up around 1 billion people when the fossil fuel is gone. I realize that puts me in the Malthusian camp.

That’s easy, the return of Jesus. Read the book of Revelation.

Population will begin shrinking in the latter part of this century. The growth rate is already dropping.

The alphabet society
When you don’t know the difference between man and woman, they can’t breed.

Would not take much to end “life as we know it”
We have become too dependent on society for food, fuel, electricity, utilities, etc. If one of those supply chains completely failed due to some catastrophic event society would crumble.
Heck people freak out when they don’t have an unlimited supply of toilet paper. If shite really hit the fan most of us wouldn’t survive.

I’m betting nuclear war is 10x more likely than all others combined.
It’s the super virus. Now maybe the super virus wouldn’t kill everyone on Earth, some would survive it, but I’m willing to bet that it more likely destroys civilization than nuclear holocaust. The reason for this is for nuclear holocaust to happen is a lot of people are involved in that.
With a super virus all it takes is a single fringe lunatic. That’s it. Can’t do it now, but in the very near future if someone is able to find the genetic sequencing to an extremely deadly and contagious virus, then he can 3D print it, infect himself, and then go out in a crowded setting intentionally spreading it.
Think what happens if this virus is as or more contagious than Covid and kills 30-60% of the people it infects. Then the power grid would shut down and the billions that survived it would be the first to starve. Billions would die and civilization as a whole would fall. I find that much more likely than nuclear holocaust.
