What does this adage mean to you?

“Truth does exist... what falsehoods you must disprove to find truth is nothing more than what is seen in one’s own countenance.”
I was reading an excerpt from an old manuscript recently, and I came across this adage. I was extremely intrigued by it and the copious meanings it could possibly have. I tried syllogism after syllogism to find the true meaning behind it, and lo! it was in that instant that I found that my current actions (searching for the meaning by myself) were exactly the denotation of the adage itself!
What do the individuals of the OT think of this? Any alternate meanings?

Can you change your beliefs when presented with facts to the contrary.

This is just one of those jokes where someone says "blah blah blah is a disproved falsehood" and then someone says "your face is a disproved falsehood".

Truth varies by the individual perceiver and his/her agenda/background.
