What does "minority" mean to you? And to what geographic area does this pertain?

Minority, by definition, means there is less than 50 percent of something in a given area.
In common racial statistics, this means that you take the racial make-up of an area and there is a majority and a minority.
But of what area? Should blacks in Baton Rouge consider themselves to be minorities, just because there are a bunch of white people somewhere else in the state that make them a minority at the state level?
If I am a white minority in my city, should I consider myself part of the majority, because there are white people elsewhere that have nothing to do with my city?
The old saying is that all politics are local. In my opinion, the more local something is, the more it actually affects me.
So, if you live in a city that is majority black, all or most of the political and law enforcement power structure is black, then black is not the minority in that area. This situation exists in almost every major city in Louisiana.
The whole idea that a race that has all the power in a city is somehow a powerless minority is a ridiculous concept.

Minorities in America are non whites

There are none or shouldn’t be in a free market economy. You work and earn your way.
Minority to me means someone is less than me and gets preferential treatment because of something I don’t have. Which is weird that someone has preferential treatment when striving for equality.

OK. Expand on that.
Why is that measured on a national level, and not a state or local level?
If this is about power and influence, then how can a black person living in a majority black city, with every seat of power held by a black person be considered a minority?
Because there are a bunch of white people in North Dakota that inflate the numbers?

So, in your definition, most Jews are not a minority? I definitely don't see it that way.

People who have passed the gom jabbar. Applicable everywhere.

Jews are Schrodinger's non-obersvational cracker: white when it suits them; non-white when it does not.

I grew up in area where whites were the minority in our city and went to predominantly black schools. In all cases, white people were the minority. When my friends/peers would complain how the minority in America is being treated, I always asked why don’t they cater to the minority in our area/schools. In America, there is a holiday weekly for minorities, constant headlines of first “____” doctor, surgeon, etc., and non minorities vocabulary and actions are restricted. However, none of that existed in my situation. They were always flabbergasted and nonresponsive to that question.

Minority in America now day are white, Christian, people.. plain and simple. It is the narrative that has been pushed for decades, and now all of your millennials that have been taught this since they entered school also believe it

Who is in control of the state legislature?
Who makes up the majority of the Louisiana congressional delegation?
The power that black people have in Louisiana is primarily at the local level and that can only get you so far.

Whites because there are few whites in the world than other races and our dear leader supports globalism so I do to.

obviously apply whatever context you are referring to that group in.
its possible to be a minority locally or broader. it just depends on what context whoever is using. its not wrong to say a black person in x location is a minority if you mean nationally, and its not wrong to say they are a majority if your context is the city.
why is it measured on a national level... probably because thats easier than individually clarifying every time for a given location. especially if you are trying to communicate that broadly. if your context is more specific, be more specific.

Honestly, those who act like victims as a whole. I've never looked at a Mexican dude and thought that's a minority, I've never looked at an Asian dude and thought that's a minority, I've never looked at an Indian dude and thought Oh that's a minority.

What effect does the state legislature have on Baton Rouge, positive or negative?
Virtually none.

Those are all the same species though that is why

The black community in Baton Rouge and New Orleans has a much larger impact on the politics of the city.
