This is what's here now, but some are 2 stupid 2 see it, and use race as an excuse.

It's the wealthy vs the Poor and Middle.

Mexico becomes a world power based on geography alone. The British would not have been involved in Manifest Destiny" type of thinking.....and the French Revolution may not have happened.

Not a single one of us would be here. The Butterfly effect over 300 years would be exponential and incalculable. Think about that... if the exact sperm doesn’t hit the exact egg at the exact moment you were conceived doesn’t happen, you’re not who you are. Same is true for all of your ancestors.

So even a small event that puts your great great great great grandfather in a different place and he never meets your great great great great grandmother, and everything beyond that is completely different.

So, something as monumental as the slave trade never happening, surely would have changed things to where none of you (or me) would have ever been born.

Native Americans would have been able to vote sooner? African Americans could vote before natives.

The real question is, Where would Gary Chambers be?

You don’t think some other labor replaces the African slave labor?

Necessity is the mother of invention, but agriculture is the key to freeing up the time needed to invent anything. Agriculture is key, because it meant that many people could live their life without spending the vast majority of that time attempting to feed themselves. This created the free time needed for people to engage in inventing.

Without the slave trade, slave labor in agriculture would have to be replaced with European immigrants. In the real timeline, these European immigrants became our inventors and why the USA was able to hold its own weight during the industrial revolution and beyond.

With these people fully still involved with trying to build the USA manually from the ground up, the USA does not pull it's own weight during industrialization, and either:

A. Best Case - Canada

Due to the hard work involved, the US does not become a major immigrant destination. Battles with natives eventually fizzle out once people comprehend just how much land is here. Europe eventually realize how expensive the colonies are and lets them do their own thing with a token acknowledgement of British royalty. External threats are minimized by geography and a lack of documented historical fighting in the region. The country modernized first on the backs of European invention and then solidly on it's own.

B. Worst Case - Mexico

Attempts to enslave the natives continues, and the populations coexist, fighting the whole time but having enough interracial mating that somehow a new ethnic identity rises. This new identity doesn't resonate with anybody in the 'Old World' and all European interest and investment stops. A lack of solid top-down leadership of and a continuation of tribal thinking leads to a nation that is slow to modernize and is overwhelmingly controlled by local groups of bandits.

I mean...America would still have developed without African slavery. Just differently. It’s not like it was slavery that made us great.

I think we became great in spite of slavery. It’s effects are an ignominious legacy of greed.
