Cremations are way cheaper.
And my husband just signed his papers to have his body donated to science.
He didn't want all the fuss.
I'm all for it and thinking of doing it myself.

I already planned and paid for my funeral. No need to leave any expenses for survivors. I’m an organ donor as well. Only decision to make will be pallbearers.

my father‘s funeral in 2003 was $16,000. So you’re telling me the cremation is going to be around $16,000?
It wasn't for my dad. I forget the actual figures, but dad's cremation was considerably less than mom's burial. I think cremation was around $8,000 and burial was around $16,000.

I'm a designated organ donor and if they can use any parts of me to help someone else have a better life, have at them.
After that, cremate me and the wife, if still alive can do what she wants with the ashes.
Personally, at some time I'd like my ashes scattered in a few places that I've been to on my motorcycle and love riding in those areas like----the Rockies, Smokey Mountains, Ozarks and some in the bayous of S.E. La. and Mississippi River where I've spent time catching my share of fish.

My late father-in-law did the same and he died in 2011. It wasn't until 2014 when they got his cremated remains back from LSU Medical School. Just so you know, it may take even longer that that at times.
That is my wife's wish too by the way.

I told my wife to take the cheapest option. I don’t see the point of an overblown casket and funeral. Gather round, tell some stories, drink a few beers and say good bye. I’m not concerned with what happens with my body.
Although, I wouldn’t mine someone cranking “The Body of an American” and everyone taking a shot of Bushmills.

Cremation. Told my children to forget to pick up the ashes but they didn’t agree. So they are going to pick them. OK if you want to do that then take my ashes to one last meal at Commanders and pour some champagne in them. Just don’t put me in the water as part of artificial reef like my wife.

Cremation isn’t free. All in all it cost almost the same as a traditional burial
We just went thru a cremation in Dec. The cost of the cremation portion was 195.00

Personally I don't care because your soul ejects from your earthsuit at the time of death. So, essentially what is left is just a piece of meat.
Wife and I have already bought burial plots and stuff, so I guess a normal type funeral, but I really don't care what she does with me.

I have already discussed this with my favorite taxidermist. I plan to be stuffed and mounted in the captain Morgan pirate pose and put in my living room besides the Christmas Tree each year.

Natural burial under a young oak tree. I want to come back as an acorn.

They keep many bodies that are partially dissected in different areas and reuse them every year for other students than mD’s so they learn the anatomy but actually do the dissection
