For the life of me, I cannot get my neck and Adam's apple area to calm down after shaving. It is especially bothersome because I typically wear a collared shirt and tie. Any tips or suggestions on avoiding razor burn and soothing it?

I try to shave my neck area (I have a beard) typically an hour before I need to go anywhere just so my dress shirt doesn't irritate it. Otherwise Ill be scratching the shite out of it all fricking morning.

First, throw away your cheap disposable razors. Then, invest in a quality safety razor and get some good blades (I like Personna). You'll be able to get about 5, maybe 6 shaves out of one razor blade. That should drastically reduce your razor burn.

If you're still experiencing some irritation, look into an alum block to apply to your face post-shave. I also apply Bay Rum (aftershave).
