Al Gore invented the internet, just a few years before he identified climate change phenomenon.

Was born in late 70s, so really only remember the 80s and 90s. It's really hard to decide between those two. Really liked the 80s, but the 90s had this real sense of optimism (at least that's how I remember it). Plus, it was the early days of all the new technology (internet, etc), so it hadn't really been "ruined" yet.

For BR I vote '60s

You had AC but the city was still almost a college town. in '60 there was nothing past airline and little past Lobdell.

as long as you were white and not drafted to 'Nam, it was probably a very nice place to live.

The 90's without a doubt!!!

Had the greatest music in terms of diversity in top 40 music ever...2pac, Notorious BIG, Snoop, Dre and Wu Tang Clan. It had great rock with Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice N Chains, STP and Soundgarden. It had great country with Garth Brooks, Allen Jackson, Reba, Alabama, George Strait and Tim McGraw. Historically it bad some of the best pop music ever...even if u don't like it, with Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Britney Spears and Spice Girls.

TV and movies were amazing as well. TV had some of the greatest sitcoms ever with Seinfeld, Friends, Frasier, Married with Children and Everybody Loves Raymond. Movie wise, the 90s might be what the 90's are known for the best. There are simply too many legendary movies to even remember but just off the top of my head Forrest Gump, Titanic, Jurassic Park, Toy Story, Armageddon, Saving Private Ryan...all of which are some of the highest grossing movies of all time. Not to mention cult classics like Dumb and Dumber, Dazed and Confused, Happy Gilmore, Ace Ventura and Joe Dirt. Movies in the 90's brought cinematography to the forefront. What a great decade of movies.

And lastly, politics were pretty good by today's standards. The country was doing well, the economy was booming and the American dream was alive and well. The 90's may forever be known as the technology era. The tech boom was equivalent to the industrial revolution. America was leading the world into the next millennia. There is so much more u could say about the 90's, but in my opinion, the 90s were one of the most important decades not only America, but the world.

The early 90s were the last days of the free thinkers and free spirits.

Empires provided stability, People were civilized, Western Civilization had reached its pinnacle. Right amount of technology. War was still fun. US had the best President ever. All down hill after WWI

Yep, the 80's brought us AIDS, the war on drugs, and the rise of the police state.

or in other words killed all the fun on the planet

Internet for the most part in the 90s was aol chat rooms and dial up speed porn jpeg.

In other words, just perfect for a teenage boy such as myself.

90s is arguably the best decade for movies, and the musical diversity was awesome.

Yeah, I might have spent two hours online in the entire decade. Figured it was a fad.
