My wife has been lobbying for one of these for a few months now.

I know a couple of people who have Subaru's and swear by em.

It’s another cheap ugly Subaru.

There are hours of YouTube videos of Subarus pulling things out of the snow. 4x4s, 18 wheelers, ambulances, etc.

There is no finer vehicle than a Subaru.

They're assembled a couple miles from my house. Go for it, and keep my neighbors at work.

Also, Subaru's are great cars anyway.

Dunno about Ascent in particular - it's a non-helpful size for me. I've got an Outback, and will never own another non-Subaru.

If they built a minivan, I'd be all over it.

thought they had the proper vehicle

It’s really about your tires, more than anything else. Four wheel drive, and some weight over your back axle help. But tires are more important.

We had a range of tires on our work trucks. From all seasons, to cheap Asian winter tires, to Nokians.

It was interesting to me, because the tires transformed the vehicles. The safe maximum speed on one truck might be 45mph, and on another 80mph. And tires were the only difference.

It surprised me. I had no idea.

Ona related note, if you need winter tires. Buy Nokians. If all the tires we used, they were the best.

I have a ‘20 Subaru Outback for my company car. The Danish company that I work for only drive Subies. It’s overall a fine vehicle...i really like the updated interior on the ‘20 with the huge infotainment screen..kind of overkill actually. It’s about as big as a Dodge Rams. I had an ‘18 before this one & that was good too. Absolutely no issues with either vehicles CVT transmission. A couple of the fine Ladies on my Region Team opted for the larger Ascent (so they could have more room for da Kids). My 2 Kids fit fine in the Outback, plus it has AWD & roof rails for my mountain bike & kayak.

My friends wanna put Rainbow & equality stickers all over it. Lol!

I pulled a polaris ranger on snow tracks out of a bank in Island Park.

Local guy. Said it happens a few times a week going down his driveway. He cant carry enough speed to overcome the slide.

He laughed when he saw the louisiana plates.

Don’t want to argue but:

In 2017 Subaru offered a warranty extension for over one-and-a-half million vehicles that covered problems with a continuously variable transmission. The warranty extension was made for vehicles produced between the year 2012 and 2017. Instead of a recall, the warranty extension offered a near doubling of the existing warranty. Previous warranties we're good for 5 years or 60,000 miles. This extension gave you a 10-year warranty or 100,000 miles, whichever came first. They covered Subaru Legacy, Subaru Outback, Subaru Forester, Subaru Impreza, Subaru Crosstrek, and Subaru WRX.

If your vehicle did not fall into the 2012 to 2017 date range, there was a small warranty extension offered that only lasted for an additional year. This warranty extension was offered instead of a recall, so it essentiallyacknowledged that there was a problem with the CVT Transmission in all of these models across those years, but not to such a degree that Subaru felt it was necessary to fully recall every model.

In the north, you will do just fine with any old front-wheel drive car if you throw studded tires on that bad boy. I've seen guys in Chevy Malibus cut through 12 inches that were freshly dumped on the road.

The wife really liked it and we almost ended up with one. Has all the features you could want, just got nudged out by the 2021 Mazda CX-9.

Bought the 2021 Premium Trim with captains chairs a few months ago. Immediately took it on a road trip that had us driving at night in a downpour.

The AWD system never hydroplaned and the headlights have incredible visibility. The lane center feature is a bit aggressive at times, so I tend not to use it. However the adaptive cruise control and collision avoidance system works wonders in heavy traffic. It will practically drive itself.

The CVT has been fine, and allegedly does a great job at simulating low range gearing when using X-Mode. Most of the cons you read about in reviews are nitpicking road noise, safety beeps, and other subjective stuff. 3rd row is actually serviceable for adults if you position the middle row correctly.

We got ours in May of '19 and love it. We have not had any issues with it all. All of the space has come in handy with 2 little ones and their things. I use my 3rd row a decent amount but most of the time it's folded down so we can have a stroller and other things laying down back there. Haven't had a chance to try out all 19 of the cup holders yet though lol.
