you have a lot of pussies in this thread who always run their dicksucker about cops, but are scared shitless to ever talk their shite to a cops face. And especially scared shitless to say it while he's off duty

It isn't bravery to talk shite to someone who may or may not be willing and definitely has the authority to shoot you, arrest you, or otherwise fine you if you even give the hint of attitude. I'm not saying this is typical. I'm saying that it happens.

I cringe when I think about a world without law enforcement- People doing whatever the F they want with no consequences, I think we would be exponentially worse off without police.

Also, most of the cops I know did the most drugs out of anyone when they were young, some were picked on, became cops for the wrong reasons.

So you have to take the good with the bad IMO. I believe many of them are honest guys just trying to make a living, but the bad apple always spoils the bunch.

Most don't receive enough training to compensate for deficiencies in certain areas (human psychology and dogs). The ones that don't need training are usually cool

Well, no shite. Your average citizen doesn't have the ability to detain or kill with zero repercussions.

Story time. The summer after I graduated high school I got a job at Walmart. Well back then they actually used real cops as off duty security. We had a fine arse lady cop at our store. I was working in paint/hardware and I started to notice that she was always in my department talking on her phone. So one night she came back there and asked me about the toilet seats. We chatted for a few minutes about toilet seats and paint. She seemed like a nice girl. Well the next day I start my lunch break and go outside to sit on these benches we had in front of the store. The lady cop shows up. We chat for a bit. She tells me she is married to a local sheriff's deputy. I'm like that's cool. Then she tells me that he's divorcing her and they've been separated for nearly a year. I'm like OK... Next thing I know she puts her hand on my frickin thigh and asks if I want to get dinner with her after I clock out. I said sure. So here I am riding in the front seat of a cop car on the way to her frickin house, excited as a motherfricker. We go inside and she cooks me an actual dinner while I watch TV. After dinner we're sitting there watching TV and she tells me that she likes me and she hasn't been with anybody since the deputy left her. So long story short we end up fricking that night. About a month later I invited her to my Dad's house for dinner and introduced her as my girlfriend. We were together for 3 years after that day. We have a son who I don't see nearly enough and even though me and her didn't work out I still think of her everyday. She is without a doubt and forever will be the one woman I'll never stop loving. So how do I feel about law enforcement? I don't know. What I do know is there is one on patrol right now in a small East Texas town who is a wonderful mother to my son that I would give my life for.

You could cut police service tomorrow to all walmarts in the country and imagine the shite show that would happen.
Just sad that this is our society. And it's not even shoplifting and the other stupidity. Without the threat of cops showing up, the nimrods would park the whole length of the store in the fire lane just because they are too lazy and fat to walk from the middle rows.

My personal experience is that they take their jobs seriously and most are good cops. Conversely, they are bad people. They are generally serial cheaters, and keep up the obnoxious macho cop routine when they are off duty.

I'm not really speaking from a small sample, either. This includes family members, acquaintences, and a couple of close friends.

they're utterly worthless, my bike was stolen I filed a police report, and haven't gotten a call back in 2 plus months. I hated them before but now, the one time I needed their help they let me down. Pigs Pigs Pigs

I can't speak to loca and state because I haven't worked with them (though id say I have run across some shitty loca characters). But id say most federal LEO that I've worked with have been hark working and caring individuals. The one thing that's become apparent to me is that to understand how absolutely crazy the world is and how the world isn't as straightforward as we want it to be and how we need to gather all the evidence..

This

Plus society has deteriorated to the point where they are constantly bastardized by the media, usually because of a poor quality video taken by someone hanging out with a camera phone. Forget any of the important details leading up to the arrest.

That's BS. You don't step to a cop, not because you're afraid, but because you know they'll gang up on you until they have enough to kick the shite out of you. It's not fear, it's discretion. That being said, I'm no badass, and I don't go looking for trouble, but I don't see many physical specimens in law enforcement that I couldn't match up with in a fair fight. There ain't many robocops out there IRL. Most are just ordinary schmucks who happen to have a gun and a badge.

I respect law enforcement. I've received my share of tickets and was pissed but I was speeding. I have never had a problem with them regardless of how the media portrays them. Also, on a side note, the State Troopers are bad asses.
