Internet troll.

It isn't in my job description, per se, but my company compensates me for it.

I have a retail construction business.

You'd be surprised what you can make working with your hands or training crews to get what you need done.

People (myself included) grow up looking down on that type of thing, but if you get to the top of the food chain, the money is right and you pick what you do, when you do it, and who you do it for. I was home all of November hanging out with the kids and knocking out some projects that my wife has been asking for for a while.

TL;DR version: do what’s marketable. Don’t do “what you want” because you’ll be holding your dick and running for coffee for 29k a year. Do something you can guarantee a job in.

This.

The “chase your dreams” route is a gamble. For every one person who get his “dream job”, about 500 others end up wasting years with nothing to show for it.

Find something stable that you won’t hate and doesn’t take up too much of your time and energy. Then build a “dream life” around that.

Oh, and Information Systems Project Manager for a large commercial bank.

I work for the Feds as an attorney. I'm currently considering a job offer as the HC at Tennessee. I will probably turn it down.

Director of Sales and Marketing for one of the largest air conditioning equipment manufacturers. I also own an apparel company. I'm stressed to the max.

Eta: I create my own stress. What I do is not overly stressful. My stress comes from my ongoing desire to be the artist I was in my youth. Every day that passes is a day lost from a dream. To be honest, the person I project at my fulltime job is nothing like the person I am away from the job. I'm good at what I do, but I hate what I do. Don't go through life hating what you do for a living. Go for a dream before you fall into a terrible grind.

Worked for a Telecommunications giant, paid great, lots of protocols and aggravation at times, but hung in there and retired.
