How has no one mentioned Provencal?
And it's not a town but HWY 117 between Sleesville and Hagewood.

I almost added Bunkie, but for me, I only pass through it on 49 and I think the speed limit is 75 if I remember correctly so no need for me to speed.

Hwy 90 by jeanerette might be the biggest speed trap in state now.

Jeanerette City Marshal office is to blame.

New Iberia City Marshal Service Fees (revenue) - $41,210
Jeanerette City Marshal Service Fees - $214,489

New Iberia City Marshal Total Expenditures - $119,158
Jeanerette City Marshal Total Expenditures - $471,540

Jeanerette's City Marshal office has $275k worth of vehicles being depreciated, for a city with a population of 5,500.

With all these fine towns mentioned I am not sure it matters if you were speeding before they pull you over.

I imagine they see a lot of people swerving uncontrollably before getting pulled over.

If you want to avoid getting a ticket, it's probably best to not speed in any small town. Ive been stopped in Sorrento on... What is it? 22? Where the speed limit goes from 55 to 45.. Cop was hiding right behind the sign. As soon as I crossed the invisible line I saw the lights. I'd say there..

You gotta be careful passing through Brusly and/or Addis. They are looking to pop anyone they can. This is a revenue stream for all these small towns so.

On I-49 at Washington. I had a friend get a ticket going 4mph over the speed limit there.

I've got a pretty lengthy rant from a year or two ago about getting pulled over and getting out of two tickets within a month. I argued I wasn't speeding, made it clear I wasn't going to simply pay the fine and move on, and once the officer let me off with a warning, while the second time he said he must have got a bad read on his gun.

It made me more upset that they let me go, because it was basically proof of the racket.

and just east of the 415 overpass on 190, drops to 50 mph (for no apparent reason) and is heavily patrolled.
