Was it shite posters like Skillet and that musick girl starting them and then replying to every single post in an attempt to keep them going... or was it Paige disappearing?

I would say it started to go down when meatloaf left, and just continued to falter. Everything you mentioned contributed to its downfall.
Actually it probably really started when you got banned years ago and some posters went to the other place.
