Men aren't bragging about it to women. They brag about it to each other. It's a sign of alpha maleness to them. Women are sluts/men are lions according to ya'll.

You’ve caught a lot of shite in this thread, and I’m not sure it’s completely fair. Sure, you’re probably coming at it from a naive perspective, but I don’t think it’s really a bad thing.

Women who have a lot of sexual partners are, whether rightly or wrongly, considered less desirable as long term partners to men. Now, the number you would consider high and mine might differ, but that’s almost a fact of life. Women, until the pill came along, since the beginning have mated across and up hierarchies for a reason. And women who didn’t run around and be the town bike were generally considered more desirable and more valuable in the mating pool.
