Tell me, because I'm AR about fine details in the home projects that I DIY. Is this a profitable hobby, or just a labor of love?
*edit: Sweet work.
Looks like a hobby I could enjoy, myself.

I do understand her concern. While I wouldn't say my brain is declining, I can't remember things like I used to (which I sort of somewhat blame on smart phones).
If I didn't take a class as serious as I should have and needed to make a high grade I was able to exercise a photographic memory.
What I mean is, I don't have photographic memory in the traditional sense but I had a method that allowed me to access it. When I had to, by the day of the exam I could write out all of the material word for word if I needed to. When I was taking the exam, as I read the question or problem.. the best way to describe how it is in my head is like knowing where something is in a book. You pick up the book, you might know its at the end of chapter 11. You go to the end of chapter 11 to scan for the part you are looking for.
I guess because I don't use it anymore (if I do its not for nearly the amount of info I used to use it for) I lost that ability. With that said, I guess I could gain it back, but I get the whole "brain isn't what it used to be".

Castles sounds great. Unfortunately I have a few unplayed titles already on my shelf of shame to pick it up. There’s a similar one, Between Two Castles of MKL that I’ve heard of as well put out by Stonemaier Games. Haven’t put in the research to see what’s different about them yet.

Travel. I work to earn money to travel. If I couldn’t travel, I’d just jerk off all day.

It’s rough when you’re having to do it but man it sucks when it’s over.
Very true.
Tell you what was rough, and I still don’t rightly know how I got this gig; but somehow I got drafted by the Boosters club to be the team photographer during my son’s high school football career. From his 9th through 12th years I spent my Friday nights going up and down the sidelines with my wife’s Cannon Rebel and this huge lens taking pictures of the games. I used the “sports” setting so, between warm-ups to the end of the game, I’d usually snap like 1,200 individual pictures. I always tried to make sure I got at least one picture of each kid on the team, even if they rode the bench, along with pics of the cheerleaders.
And when the game was over, my night was just starting. When we’d get home I’d take the memory card from the camera and use my laptop to edit down the pictures to a few hundred or so. Then I’d go to the Boosters Facebook page and create a photo album for that game to upload the pics. When parents and family woke up the next morning they’d have a huge photo album of their kid on either the team or cheer squad. It was a big hit but took a lot of time. Most Friday nights I didn’t get into bed until 2-3 AM. One night after the game had a lengthy weather delay, I remember I didn’t get into bed until 6 AM. But it was worth it because not only did I get a ton of pictures of my own kid, but I also provided a lot of families with pics of their own kid. Parents loved it. It was exhausting, especially with my heart condition. But it was worth it and I still kinda miss it.

Not likely profitable, but I’m about to start trying to sell some of them because I’ve accumulated too many

Depends on the guitar, some have about $200 in them just in materials, others a bit less.
Anybody want to buy one, lol

I’m kind of jealous of people that have that artistic side. Y’all produce something tangible, wonderful.
bullshite, bro! You are one of the most artistical bastages on this website. Don't sell yourself short.

That’s a lot of work. I’ve had friends that were responsible for that.

What’s funny is that I’m in no way a photographer. I don’t even own a camera other than my phone. It was my wife’s camera that she had to show me how to use.

Oh the parents were great. They’d even share the album with distant family. At one point I had people from as far away as Colorado following the Booster page for my albums. Turns out I had a talent for it. I still have parents ask me to come out of retirement and start doing it again. If my wife wasn’t completely against it, I’d seriously consider doing it again.

You know what I mean. Ultimately, what I do is little more than some words on a screen. You can’t hold them, turn them in your hand, see how the light refracts on the chatoyance of the wood grain.
No one is hanging it up on their walls, looking at it and finding little things they’d never seen before. Art, tangible art, has a quality of being REAL. Actual. Solid.
I weave words. I craft thoughts. Evoke emotions.
But it’s all fleeting. It’s not physical.
It feels ephemeral. Floating away in the wind.

But my true love is obscure spaceships and vehicles from tv and movies like the Cygnus from the Black Hole, the military truck from Aliens, gunship and glider from Nausicaa, Space 1999 ships, vintage 1970s spacecraft...
