In all seriousness

This is why i would have never become a teacher in the first place. Dealing with these types.

Complaining about not getting paid more for sitting on their asses, and being glorified babysitters when they do “work.”

My girlfriend and her co-worker created a summer camp to host at the school she teaches. They keep all the money they make from it, too. I taught her well

Well, a first year teacher in my school district makes 52K. That is with no stipends. For 40K, yeah that would suck, lol. Then again, at 52K+, it still sucks at times, lol.

Is there really much difference between 40 and 52k?

2 weeks of running a summer camp that applies toward my internship for my masters.

1 week of AP Biology training.

9 days of PD other than those already listed, I have to lead several of them.

Most of the other days will consist of early morning swim practice that somehow I was convinced to become one of the volunteer coaches. Then going home to play in the pool or fish.

Oh and normally I wouldn't be doing this but with the NGSS adoption at the 9-12 level for next year I will actually be doing a metric ton of lesson planning.

nah I think you are mistaken the teachers for the parents. The parents need to do a better job with teaching their kids manners, morals and the value of education. As teachers, it is hard for us to teach kids who dont give a shite especially when their parents dont give a shite.

1000X THIS

Bureaucrats set teachers up for failure. The everyday Joe doesn't understand this or care to understand it. It's much easier to point the finger at teachers and say "do better".

Absolutely. The red tape that it takes for me to give a student a D or an F is ridiculous and requires a huge burden on my colleagues. So, Little Johnny walks away with a C, and his parents have no clue how lazy and deficient their child is.

I’ll be at the school 4 days a week for weightlifting. We have a good bit of training. I will go to the beach for a week though.

My wife is a teacher and I'm already getting pissed about how much money she is going to try and spend each day.
