The Republic of Thieves, third book of the Gentlemen Bastards series. Really enjoyed the first book (Lies of Locke Lamora) and the second book was pretty good (Red Seas Under Red Skies) just not quite as engrossing as the first one. Too early to say where I'd rank this one, only about 100 pages in.

A month back read Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury. Loosely collected short stories about a small Anywhere USA town with a hint of paranormal against a backdrop of nostalgic Americana. Themes really hit home, rising technologies eroding treasured institutions, were we ever really young, the nature of happiness, true fear mixed in with magical trolley rides, the scent of freshly mown grass on a summer evening and walks to the ice cream store. Had to be inspiration for Stephen Kings Derry, Maine. Try it.

Loved Steinbecks Cannery Row and sequel Sweet Thursday. Very entertaining and humorous at the same time enlightening. Travels w Charlie is also much more than it seems. If you like to read and seek a different perspective I promise you will more than enjoy all three.

Just learned last night how Community Coffee played a role not only in the rebirth of the Rwandan Cycling team, but also contributed to the economic regrowth of the country after being devastated by the genocide.

The latest jack reacher novel. Yeah yeah I had a lot of down time recently and needed something to pass the time. It's entertaining though.

I really enjoy these threads and always get a few good ideas out of them.
Have you thought about also posting this on the Movie/TV Board? We have similar threads about reading suggestions on there from time to time and they tend to go over well.
Anyway, what I am reading now:
Diary of the Sinai Campaign by Moshe Dayan
The White Company by Arthur Conan Doyle
The Good War by Studs Terkel
I also have checked out The Rising Tide by Jeff Shaara but haven't started on it.
