We don't really do Christmas gifts because we have our own money and just buy whatever we need/want throughout the year.
I get that it's a nice gesture (and maybe done for tradition) but I find strange the idea of sharing a bank account with someone and then exchanging presents. Either of you could have gone and bought those things if you wanted them. My girl and I don't share an account so I think it would make a little more sense if we exchanged gifts.

My wife an I stopped getting each other gifts for Christmas because we end up buying things we don't need just for the sake of giving. Instead, we take a vacation together each year as our gift. We'd rather make memories than give each other random things. This year we are going to Aspen.
