JBE called for higher individual rates on middle and upper class today

Just because he requests it doesn't mean it is so, right? I am not very in tune to state politics. Who controls the house in LA?

Yeah the Republicans control everything else. They'll carve it up

Saving the excess for the mid 2020s, when the tax cuts expire for the middle class, and Congress pretends like they care about the debt and deficit all of sudden and won't renew them and the dumbass American populace blames it all on whoever the President is at the time.

Put it on the stockpile for retirement.

JBE doesn't have the backing in the state legislature to raise taxes

Saving more. Screw the economy.
Actually, that helps by giving banks greater reserves to use as a basis for lending. Especially if you use a local bank or credick union.

Unlikely that it won't be renewed at that time. Raising taxes, especially on the middle class, will be highly unpopular.

Considering in the previous century there hasn't been a period where tax rates have stayed the same for longer than 10 years, I'll take that 10 years of savings running!
Also I'm willing to bet 99% of people don't know why the rate expires after 10 years. Hint: It's not because they didn't want to keep it in.
