Took a beach trip and brought several of Juniors friends. Got a few 12 packs so I’d have some beers on hand to drink. Woke up first day and was down a few beers. They’re all teenagers, didn’t make a big deal of it and they never left the room. The obvious answer is absolutely not due to the risks. What are you baws rules for teenagers drinking at your house or on a trip?

My kids are too young still but rules at my parents house was - anyone who has one drink hands over keys and you’re not leaving.

When one gets an accident and kills someone then you’re fricked- whether you intentionally provided or not. Get your head straight.

Man, I know we found a way to drink. Especially those for whom it was forbidden.

Better to have a safe haven to learn how than out god knows where.

A little supervision and discipline goes a LONG way

Start them early and hammer personal responsibility. I didn’t want to let down my old man when he trusted me to do the right thing (not drinking and driving, making good choices etc)

Are you admitting to contributing to the delinquency of a minor at your home? What else are you doing behind closed doors?

How much are you willing to pay (not just financially) to be the cool dad?

Man this is a tough question. My oldest is 12 so I think I still got a few years here. Still - it's not 1990 anymore and just anything goes. Today, the lawyers are on the loose. I think with any of my kids friends, it's gonna have to be like prohibition with them. If they get it from somewhere and you can maybe turn a blind eye, that's one thing. But I would probably take lengths to make sure nobody's raiding my beer.

I get what he’s saying and doing. Really, I do. Kids will drink no matter what and he wants to be able to provide a controlled environment for his to do so in order to be as responsible as possible given the situation. Kudos to him for it, too, but his post could come back to haunt him and be the nail in his court coffin if one of those kids drives away from his home and hurts or kills someone. I hope OP is smart enough to delete this post.

If they enjoy drinking under your supervision they'll really enjoy it unsupervised especially if there are girls involved.

No drinking if you’re underage. Full stop.

Morality aside, you open yourself to a world of hurt by letting anyone underage drink.

It’s not my fault you lack the intelligence to discern sarcasm.

Did they smoke crack too?
Let the kids have fun as long as they realize what moderation is
