What are the modern children rules?

So I am a bachelor who was baby sitting a group of kids with my girlfriend and it didn't go well. First there was an incident at the pool where we were swimming and the kids starting screaming that there was a bee in the pool, so I quickly went over and smacked it dead with a paddle board. Then the kids started crying because I killed it when they were screaming that it was drowning and wanted me to save it.
Next of course was making PB&J for them, but "luckily" none of them had a peanut allergy.
Then finally all the parents at the soccer game Got all bent out of shape when I said "use your head" Only to find out "heading the ball is now illegal due to concussion issues"
Is there an orientation to modern children rules? What are other new rules that popped up the last 10 years?

I tell my 5 year old little girl repeatedly to "get over it" about a bunch of shite. I'm sure there are a lot of people who would disagree with our parenting but frick them. I want a well adjusted child, not a perpetual victim.
