What are the best fairs/festivals in Louisiana? by ElderTiger
Madisonville Wooden Boat Festival was cool. Again, they charge admission so a lot of trash is not there. Everybody seemed to be having a good time and the weather was great.
Here is the answer and the reason.
I scanned the posts just to see when it would be mentioned. Fun time as drinking adults and even more fun when you have kids that can build a boat in the woodworkers tent.

Marshland Festival in Lake Charles.
Duck Festival (already said, but reiterating)
Anyone that says Contraband Days is just trash. That's all that thing is anymore. Just like Freedom Fest at Fort Polk. If you like people watching, that's a good one. One day on Fourth of July Weekend. The pride of Leesville turns out (cause there aint shite else to do in Leesville).

Hogs for the Cause was great this past year despite half of City Park being a mud pit.

Poboy fest in uptown New Orleans is a good one. Low key, but good food and good people. Something to do for a day...
Unless a lot has changed, po boy fest is anything but low key. It got 5x more people than it could handle. But it's been 5+ years since I've been. Maybe enough people got pissed and it's now a reasonable crowd.

Damn there are some awesome festivals In this state
I think it's the best state for festivals. Plenty of great free ones. Colorado festivals nickel and dime the hell out of you.
That said, I'm actually headed up to Nederland for Nedfest today.
