Probably one of the small independent O&G companies.
Did that for about a year and hated it. Plus there’s really not much room for advancement if they’re too small.

Hilcorp. BlueCross. Exxon/Shell/Dow. The definitive answer in CENLA used to be Cleco, but that's no longer true. Centurylink when they were CenturyTel, but now they're consolidating, downsizing, and going to crap from what I hear.

CenturyLink has a new CEO. Rumor mill was that they wanted to move to Colorado. The CEO stated that he has no plans to move it from Monroe.
Purely antecedotal, but I dont remember seeing them at hiring events. I figured getting a job there now is more so personal connections. Not sure?

Do a quick search on CenturyLink jobs in Denver. I know they rebranded other existing CO-based companies to CenturyLink which can account for some of the postings, but Broomfield, CO is close to some of the highest rated suburbs in the country so the writing is on the wall.
ETA: CenturyLink has 73 job postings for Monroe. 50+ of them require relocating to CO. There are 163 jobs for Denver.

They basically just want to play the long game. They'll probably keep the Monroe facility around as a figurehead for awhile, keeping the real jobs in CO . Then silently let Monroe branch die out.
