Headed to Houston for the final four this weekend and in need of bar suggestions for Friday and Saturday nights. We'll be staying at the crowne plaza by reliant but will have a car/can uber around the city. I remember Midtown being a good area with a ton of bars, any suggestions near there? Is there a better area? Thanks

Depends what you are looking for?
Tail? Head to midtown. There's 15+ bars within shouting distance. Where you can party it up with the age 21-26 A&M, UT, Rice, and Baylor tryhards.
Want great beer selection, good food, and non douchey crowd? Let me introduce you to: D&T Drive Inn
Karbach Brewery might as well be a bar as well. Same scene. You just pay cash for tokens (beer only). awesome restaurant serving a gastropub-style menu, based on their beer.

La Grange, Wooster's Garden, Cottonwood, Cedar Creek all good bars for a patio this weekend with the weather being what it is.
Otherwise...Midtown with the rest of the cocksuckers.
Glad I'm getting out of the city this weekend.

This might be more of what we're looking for, looks like it's a bit far from reliant though. We're all 25/26 but would rather have a chill night of beer/whiskey drinking than dealing with a bunch of douchey people.

Hay Merchant in Montrose. They have good beer from a bunch of Houston/Texas breweries and food from the same folk at Underbelly. Pretty chill place and douche free.

KIRBY ICE HOUSE
Address: 3333 Eastside St
Houston, TX 77098
Per Zagat from February 2016...and I agree with these first few.
LA GRANGE
2517 Ralph St.
832-962-4745
Why it’s hot: Since opening day, this casual Montrose tropical-style stunner named after a small Texas town hasn’t lost any momentum. Guests clamor on the patio festooned with lavish landscaping, an outdoor bar and lots of seating options. Inside is just as hot, with a compact bar backed by lipstick-red barstools and striking Mexican light fixtures dangling from lofty ceilings over large community tables for sharing a nosh.
Must drink: Mexican Firing Squad with Dulce Vida 100-proof blanco tequila, pomegranate juice and bitters. Dangerous.
Insider tip: Go early so you can park in the private parking lot and soak up some sun on the deck. After 5 PM, it gets crazy.
THE OWL BAR
2221 W. Alabama St.
713-526-3535
Why it’s hot: Since moving into its new Upper Kirby home, The Owl is constantly packed due to its two-sided patio deck, interior upgrades (black-and-white checked floors, more seating, better flat-screen TVs), eclectic jukebox and a new kitchen. Created by Prego's David Cook, the menu now includes “Owl” wings, fries topped with chicken fajitas, artichoke fritters and Philly cheese steaks. Vegetarians will appreciate sandwiches made with Hot Dang grain patties.
Must drink: All pours are generous, so find your favorite. The loaded Bloody Mary has a strong following at weekend brunch.
Insider tip: Industry Night Monday means special pricing from 10 PM-2 PM. Wine & Whiskey Wednesday features special pricing all night.
EIGHT ROW FLINT
1039 Yale St.
832-767-4002
Why it’s hot: Rare bourbons, frozen cocktails and tacos headline the menu at this upscale Heights ice house from the team behind Revival Market and Coltivare. Rolled-open glass garage doors, an expansive U-shaped patio and tasty Tex-Mex from an on-site taco truck bring new fuel to the vintage gas station. Read more about new Eight Row here.
Must drink: The frozen margaritas are citrusy and stout; actually, all the frozen drinks rock.
Insider tip: No reason to stand in line at the taco truck. Just sit down and order at the bar or on the patio, and your food and drinks will be delivered.
REVOLVER
6502 Washington Ave.
713-862-4555
Why it’s hot: This sophisticated Washington Avenue newcomer in an industrial-chic space sporting a massive patio has quickly become a trendy stop for craft cocktails, beer and an extensive selection of bourbon and whiskey. Its Texas-inflected American pub menu is also a draw for nightcrawlers. Think substantial fare like the applewood bacon–stacked Revolver burger with Sriracha aioli, along with chicken quesadillas, chicken fried bacon and loaded pulled pork sliders.
Must drink: Red sangria flowing with fresh berries and fruit.
Insider tip: Southern Fried Wednesdays offers half off Texas whiskey and $10 chicken fried steak dinners, complete with mashed potatoes and green beans.
HUNKY DORY
1801 N. Shepherd Dr.
713-864-2450
Why it’s hot: This handsome British pub outfitted with a gorgeous bar, cushy booths and modern artwork provides a great little hideaway if you don’t want to crowd into bustling Hunky Dory restaurant. The space gets lots of natural light with floor-to-pitched-ceiling windows overlooking an inviting patio deck with towering oak trees.
Must drink: The cocktail menu by popular mixologist Leslie Ross is irresistible. Start with the refreshing Pimm’s Cup fortified with lemon, mint, cucumber and ginger beer, and go from there.
Insider tip: Hungry? Ask for the pub food menu (it isn’t offered when you sit down), which is different from the restaurant menu. Try the burger, crispy fish 'n' chips or elaborate Silver Salver cheese tray.
AXELRAD BEER GARDEN
1517 Alabama St.
713-597-8800
Why it’s hot: Conceived as a community gathering place for local craft beer, live music and the city’s only hammock grove, this Midtown oasis is about being outside and relaxing, and there’s no denying the chill vibe. The bar is housed in a historic building that was originally a grocery store built by David and Gertrude Axelrad. Artists added to the cool interior design with unique tap handles by Venezuelan-based Maria Rangel and textiles by Austin-based Nido.
Must drink: Ice-cold Saint Arnold Berliner Weisse — a Houston-made German-style sour wheat beer.
Insider tip: Regular weekly events include a nonprofit dog adoption night. Check Facebook, Twitter or the website for the full schedule of happenings.

Lagrange, Owl Bar, Little Woodrows
Your best bet is probably midtown since the metro runs up to NRG stadium so its an easy to and from lift
Will you bringing some northeast women with you?

Depends on what you're looking for. The ones below will be a slightly older crowd (say late 20s into the 30s):
D&T Drive In (significantly more room outside than inside so make sure the weather cooperates). Great beer selection and good jukebox.
Johnny's Gold Brick - cocktails mostly
Captain Foxheart's - cocktail bar
Hay Merchant - great beer and food
13 Celcius - nice wine bar with small outdoor patio. Decent beer selection.
Mongoose v. Cobra - beer and cocktails
