Signed on a home recently. The seller paid over $11k in fees to the two realtors. This doesn't even bring in the lawyer fees, etc. (some of which I provided). How can you bypass portions of this process and the fees?

Don't use a realtor and you won't pay realtor fees.

Sell it yourself. With the Internet, it isn't hard. If you want to move it quick, pay the buyer's agent 2.5

Flat fee realtors are becoming more popular. My listing agent cost me 1495$ total. Also only offered 2.5% buyers agent fee. It saved me almost 15k. House sold in under 2 weeks.

Realtors are getting pretty useless. Most things in MLS end up on web anyway so they don't show you much you can't find yourself. For buyers in hot areas a realtor can get you the jump on others only if they have access to pre-mls listings. For seller's, an MLS lockbox is probably all they are good for unless your house needs staging. Try to get them to do a smaller fee for the box and tell them they don't have to show shite. Let buyers realtor do that.
