What are some professions that typically make 200k per 40 hrs/wk

Lately I have been going to various social engagements and while mingling amongst the guests I have come to the conclusion that I need to find a new career path. Everyone I meet seems to make 200k+. How do I get into these fields and what are they? I understand that physicians and lawyers take a considerable amount of school and am not interested in going back for that period of time. I make a comfortable living but am in no way an OT baller. Just looking to make a better future for myself and family.

I know a plumber who claims to make that. I find it very unlikely as he lives in a double wide.

I make $85k/year teaching and coaching which is above average, but I feel ya. Living here in Oxford (about the only affluential part of the state) I am surrounded by doctors and lawyers. I feel poor.
ETA: the down votes are uncanny. Let me add a caveat I coach swimming - both HS and the club team here. I make $46k teaching, $30k coaching club, $4k coaching HS and then sprinkle in some side things like Airbnb.

frankly, most of the folks that lead you to believe that they make that much money are totally full of shite.

So when you meet people they openly tell you their income?

So they will tell you their income, but not their profession? That is odd.

Become a street walker with no pimp. It will get you really close. And tax free.

I have heard that sales is a lucrative career path but how do you break into sales? Do you just have to know a guy or is there a certain background that they look for.

I once worked in a bank where I learned a few things about people and money. Whatever you think a person probably makes, it is usually considerably less, most of the that look like they make a lot of money don't, the person you think is least likely to have considerable wealth can have a lot.
To answer your question, there are sales positions that can earn that type of income, many of which require no particular college degree. If you learn a skilled trade such as electrician, HVAC, plumbing, you can eventually start your own business and get to that income level. I once owned a quarter share of a airplane, my partners were a neurologist, the owner of a heating and air business, and the owner of a plumbing business.

bottom line in this thread is it doesn't matter what you do, just be the best you can be at what you do and the money will follow. I know a car detailer who is literally the best you can find, he's booked solid for weeks, he's got a nice $500k home, 2 kids in private school and a couple nice cars....and he washes the cars himself, no employees, but he's the best and has built a great reputation for himself.

I did some work for a paper salesman a few years ago. Like a real-life Dunder Mifflin kind of guy. He started at the company in a low level clerical position and eventually moved into a sales role. After about a decade, he was pulling in north of $150K. No college. No family deals. Just hard work and building a sales book over 10 years or so.
OTOH, I encountered him when he left for another company, and the first place sued to enforce a non-compete clause he signed. I got him out of the non-compete, but he almost cut off his own dick by taking another job, taking clients, taking records, and then getting his arse sued.

My wife and I together get close to that but I would never say that to anyone except an anonymous internet message board.

Unicorn groomer is an obvious buisness to start but I don't think I have the start up capital currently. I have heard customer acquisition costs can very high.
