That wreck with Taryn Lemoine was horrific. It was a terrible day.

Does anyone remember back in the late 90s there was a kid that was about to graduate from Northeast that was killed right before graduation? He was standing up in the car and was decapitated. I believe is twin brother was in the car when it happened.

Bad wreck when the road rage guy wrecked and they crossed median on I-10 between Highland and LA 73 exit in Ascension It's why they installed those barriers on the interstation.

If this is the one that happened right behind CCLA, my dad and brother were on the scene. The story I heard is brother tried to run and assist, came back and told dad nothing could be done.

It was 1972, I think. I was almost 11. All the people in the truck were related to each other. The 18-wheeler was carrying wheat, and some of the victims were buried under the wheat. That accident spurred laws to prevent kids from riding in pickup truck beds.

When I was 18, I worked a summer job with a classmate whose brother had a concrete wall company. We were working up on Roswell Rd in Atlanta metro north.

One afternoon, my buddy and I left at lunch to go to grab some food. On the way back we were waiting at a traffic light about 4 cars back from the light. It was 2 lanes going both ways with a median separating the hwy. We were on the inside lane with a turning lane to our left. There was a VW Cabriolet in front of us with a hot girl about our age driving with the top down. I told him to get over a lane (there was only 1 car in that lane) so we could get a better look at her. As we passed slowly she smiled over at us and I waved. About a second later, I heard and felt the biggest sound, like a cannon went off in my ear. and saw smoke and debris flying in the air. When I looked to my left, her car was in fron of us and pancakes like an accordion and the large truck in front of her had the entire bed crushed and front end crushed into the car in front of it. It was so hard of an impact that it knocked the front car into the intersection. She was instantly killed by a man who ran into her at an estimated speed of 70mph. I was told many months later by someone who knew the girl that the man committed suicide.

That was 36 years ago and I still see it clearly in my head. One second we were in that lane and 6 seconds later someone gets killed in the spot we had just vacated.

Amie Comeaux was a young country singer with a couple of videos on CMT when she hydroplaned and died after hitting a tree. She was 21.

I was working at a plant off HWY 30 6-7 years back and there was a head on accident between a PT Cruiser and a truck 50 feet from me when I was at the front gate. The PT Cruisers engine continued down the highway like 200 feet the impact was so bad. Turns out the 2 people in the PT Cruiser (both died immediately) were fleeing the outlet mall down the road and went into oncoming lane to pass a car. Driver of the truck they hit only had minor injuries thank the lord.

Their families sued City of Gonzales for chasing them.

A group of kids went to a dance club outside of town. They danced the night away and came back. They were crossing the bridge near town… an accident occurred. All were killed.

Since then our little town has banned any dancing. I’m trying to change this. I have a meeting with the town council in a couple of weeks.

Wish me luck.

About 25 years ago in Houston at the 45 and 290 interchange downtown. 18 wheeler tipped over going down a curving ramp and onto an SUV in lane next to it. Slid down the exit ramp together. Crushed the roof and killed two young kids in backseat, trapped husband in the passenger seat, but mother survived unhurt in driver seat. She climbed out of the burning car, saw what happened, and was restrained from crawling back in to die with her husband. Bothered me to this day.

I-12 sees some insane accidents for a road that’s straight as an arrow.

I worry about my daughter when she goes to the north shore with her grand parents.
