The only difference is the people in attendance at both of the events you mentioned actually know more of the people there which makes it a little more/sometimes less fun. Other than that, it is just a room full of drunks with liquid courage thinking they can dance and frick,

Go to the Tucks ball if you want drunken debauchery. It doesn't get much better. Endy and Bacchus and Orpheus are a little too big.

Tickets to the Baccus Ball in New Orleans are $175.00 each this year, you cant get them from ticket master or anything like that, but it is not very hard to find tickets.
General information about Baccus Ball in New Orleans for anyone that wants to know. Have friends that ride, and have been to the ball maybe 10-12 times
It is black tie, roughly 10,000 people attend at the convention center, you are seated at tables with seating for 10 people. There is no ceremony or crowning of the king, you dance and party, then around 10:30- 11:00 the entire parade enters the building and circles inside the convention center throwing beads and the whole bit, all the floats then park inside the building and everyone partys some more, we usually stay until around 3 AM. There are usually 4 or 5 bands one of which will be some type of formerly nationally known artist, but the quality of that can vary greatly, this year I think it is Huey Lewis. The other local bands are usually very good. You bring your own food and booze or have it catered to your tables. Some will even hire a bartender for their group. Getting there is a pain, but it is the only way I will ever watch a parade in New Orleans.

They can be. A lot of the structure of them is a lot different today. It used to be with a lot of the old line balls that they would have the the ball and supper dance right after the parade like Hermes and a few others. But , if you were a rider, that turned your day into a marathon.
You start drinking at 10:00 in the morning .
The college aged women who were of the court were a lot of fun to look at and it was even funnier to watch them right prior to te ball and the supperdance. They were uncomfortable as hell and would constantly be sneaking away from their dressing room to get a drink or smoke so much so that the "handlers would be running around with all this panic look on their faces because half of them would be drunk as hell.
