Continental was a great airline before they sold out to United

Actually....

United was actually acquired by Continental, but CO management kept the UA brand because of its global presence. Primarily through Star Alliance.

Jeff Smisek, the former Continental CEO ran United until a few years ago when he was indicted for bribing the head of the Port Authority of NY NJ.

Continental's leadership was ill prepared to take on a global airline, now United sits at the back of the pack.

I go cheapest rate with best trip times and duration. (Sometimes its more expensively to get better flight times. But whatever.)

However, I like AA for international flights. Dislike United. And am indifferent to delta.

With mileage perks for all 3, it's really irrelevant outside of the time commitment each asks of me.

Why does spirit suck so bad? My airline is JetBlue.

That airline is fricking horrible.

That said, I'd still fly it if it were the best deal.

20-30 times a year---Southwest exclusively if they go there. By far the best airline. I like choosing who I sit by more than getting an assigned seat too.

They blow the US airlines away in quality and service.

Typical Georgian.

When is Atlanta going to grow up and get a second airport like regular major cities?

Nobody gives one s*** how many planes pass through your airport when they are scheduled 30 minutes longer to account for all that taxiing time.

Delta is no better than the other legacy airline and lacks the service and domestic flights that SWA has. So many of the regionals flying under the Delta banner are really bad in terms of on time and fleet reliability that they really should take the Delta name off of their planes.

I try my best to make day trips. Sleep on the plane, sleep in the hotel what's the difference?

Virgin because it only serves the coast. You don't have to deal with trashy people from non coast cities

Southwest. It's cheaper, I can get priority boarding, hella easy and convenient.

Yep, At least one business class trip to ME and back a month for two decades leaves me with skymiles o'plenty and elite status till the end of time.

If they would just bring back the direct flight to DXB I would

They treat their diamonds very well.

Spirit = trash
Southwest has a nice checked bag deal, but there’s only one class, the boarding situation is weird, and it’s like they’re herding cattle.
United seems generic, just gets you there.
American is decent all around.
IMO, Delta is far ahead of the others - nice aircrafts, nice classes, great service etc. I hate flying anything else except them, just personal preference.

Best deal although I used to fly exclusively Delta because of the status. I would connect in SLC rather than take a direct to SEA because I would always get upgraded on Delta.

Now, I have no status so I'm going with whomever is the cheapest.

I posted a question a couple pages back about Spirit...it really does NOT suck. It "could" suck if you have expectations of grandeur or don't know that it is a no frills airline, but their planes are modern, clean, and I've never actually had a problem with them. Now, I qualify the above by stating that I only fly Spirit for trips that don't require a checked bag and special needs....

That being said, for domestic flights I fly 85% Southwest, and have their rewards cc, but that is only because most of the places I travel to they are the most convenient and price competitive...but people who trash Spirit, I don't get it.....never had a bad time with them.....

would never, under any circumstance, fly Spirit.
Depends. Long as they don’t cancel your flight at last minute or as long as you don’t have to make it to a close connecting flight or have a stop or two before destination and don’t mind paying so much for any luggage beyond a small backpack, Spirit can be serviceable.

All things being equal, we prefer SW for our usual destinations, price, scheduling, free baggage, seating choices. Somewhere special, we’d look first at Delta, then maybe AA. But prices matter.
