Depends on what she looks like.

How fat of a baw are you?
I had a double by-pass at 42, and was less than five pounds over the body weight guide lines, genetics has more to do with it than diet.

The time is now. Genetics don't give a shite what you eat or how much you exercise. No rush, but get it scheduled & check things out.

Same here. 47. 99% blocked LAD. Any more exercise than a brisk walk would have killed me.
If can get your gen. practitioner to bless it, get the sonogram and nuclear stress test. Note: never prepare for the stress test at the gym if you haven't been exercising. If you do have a problem, you'll drop dead (not kidding)
If you are exercising and you aren't having chest pains you're probably ok. But when you don't really exercise much and you feel like someone is sticking an ice pick in your chest when your heart rate gets above 100, you have a serious f'n problem.

Strictly by accident they found a small bulge in my left common iliac artery during a CT scan on me. My doctor said he wasn't worried about the small bulge. His worry was if I had a small bulge in that location then I probably had buildup around my heart. He told me to go get a calcium score done on the way home.
He had a previous patient that biked 20 miles a day and ate perfect. The guy was sent for a routine calcium score....he had a score over 1500. They didn't let him leave the hospital and performed emergency surgery on him that day. He could have died any minute had they not caught it. By the way, he told me this story before I went to get mine done. I was scared as shite.

So the calcium test over the cardiologist or see him first?
I’ve heard mixed results of the calcium tests

Eat a clean, nutritionally excellent diet and a cardiologist will never be needed at all.

Heck, if you are worried, which apparently you are, just go to the cardiologist. Especially since you've already met your deductible. Nothing bad can come of it.

You couldn't be more wrong.

Never too early.
That way they’ll set up a base line and go from there.
Could possibly detect something that you didn’t even know about.
You don’t have to feel bad to have heart issues.
Unfortunately most people do wait they aren’t feeling well.

It really is. Can’t believe they forgot about the importance of a fish oil supplement in addition to a clean diet.

You should be controlling your diet and getting plenty of cardio and regular check ups. Find a good one and listen to what they say.

There are a lot of dumb posts on TD, but this one ranks way up there at the top. Surely, you are more educated than this statement indicates.

Reason i ask is ill be 40 next year and heart disease runs in my family.
Two uncles dropped dead in their 50s from heart attacks (their first). Grandfather dropped dead at 78 from his first heart attack.
At 40 they made me get an EKG for this very reason.
I've had a couple of treadmill stress tests and and a nuclear stress test since then. All clear so far.
Don't play with that heart if you have a family history.

I'm in my early 60's. My pecker gets hard without meds. My BP is damned close to 120/80. I eat what I want within reasonable quantities. I haven't found a need to see one yet.

Depends on what she looks like. You know she’s already got a good job ;)
