I'm 46 this year and its the first time I've considered myself "old" not so much because of the number but because of what has happened to me this shitty year - lost my dad, came down with old person disease. frick this year and frick 46.

I'm 57. I don't feel old but I can tell you that life after 40 is nowhere like life before 40. Old to me would be when more of my pubes are gray than dark. I don't consider myself old but I sure aint young either.

How about 78? I believe that is the average US life expectancy for males.
If 50% of people die before your age and 50% of people die after, you have reached the threshold! Congrats! You’re old!
Just to be real for a second, as someone who has seen a lot of terrible things through my career, I personally see old age as a blessing. Not everybody makes it. You’re gonna have problems, but there are a lot of people who never make it far enough to have those problems. Rejoice and live the frick out of your remaining years.
