I haven't seen much of that either.
We've been doing it ourselves though!
So much time in the backyard that the front yard is a change of pace every now and then!

I like hanging out in the front some times.....I also see a lot int he front now days. One family likes to let their 3-5 year old kids sidewalk chalk at the very end of their driveway, about 6 feet from the street. That I don't understand.

Just people wanting to "get out" of the house.

Problem is a lot of them will invite 2 or 3 families over as well and defeat the purpose.
inviting families over defeats the purpose of getting out?

I know right?
We've had some of the block happy hours and everyone group of neighbors sits or stands a good 10 feet away. No big deal.

It's been great seeing folks in my neighborhood spending more time in their lawns and walking / jogging / taking their dogs for walks. i'm not sure why this would bother you.

We've always sat out with the neighbors in my neighborhood. Sometimes on a patio, sometimes in a yard on swings and chairs, sometimes on a swing, glider and chairs on the back end of a driveway. Everybody can keep comfortably apart and still be sociable.
