You’d have to give me at least 1000 acres and that probably wouldn’t even cut it for me.

I look at this completely different. Imagine a state so free where you can incinerate your furniture in your driveway and it’s not only legal, but encouraged!!

There was an old Boy Scout property for sale not too long ago that was gorgeous.

There’s lots of large tracts.

Snowshoe is a pretty decent ski resort. The downside is the lack of cell coverage.

1. Lack of jobs that pay in WV

To be fair there aren’t that many great jobs in LA either

2. literally ZERO nice cities with good food in WV

LA has plenty of ‘ghetto’ cities with good food

3. LA has better fishing

Haven’t fished in WV - but they do have fishing so no comment

4. LA has an NFL franchise

You must be joking if you think this makes LA better

I do like the heat strokes of the LA summers

6. Think LA people are dumb, go talk to a cashier at a gas station in WV.

Not really sure if there is a place free of dumb people. And I don’t know many phd candidates working at gas stations anywhere

I think Tulsa is also offering people a lot of money to move up there. They are trying to bill themselves as like the next Silicon Valley or something.

So if you’re reading this topic, don’t have much going on, your choices are West Virginia, Northwest Arkansas, and the middle of nowhere Oklahoma.

Regret not going to college now?

There's a ton of good food. Heritage of WV is Italian, German, Greek Slovak who came over to work in the mines and glass factories. My wife's from WV and is Italian/Irish/Slovak. I never had real Italian food until we met.

My beat friend from HS was from WV. The family moved back there when his dad retired. His mom was pure Italian and could cook her arse off. Sweetest lady you could ever meet but man she was so gullible. She made some bomb arse italian dishes that would put most Italian places around here to shame. Me and my friend lived 8 houses apart, many nights we would eat dinner at my house, gumbo, jambalaya, stews.. . Then go eat cabbage rolls or spaghetti at his house.

So a year of no state income taxes. Maybe less than a year.

I'll wait for Tennessee or Florida to offer this.
