People who dine and dash are pieces of shite. IHOP should adopt a fast food policy, pay before you eat, since they serve poor POS people.

I used to work at a restaurant as a server. This couple came in, ate most of their food, then afterward complained about how it wasn’t prepared right and wanted a free meal. I had the manager come over and he comped it. After they already received a free meal, they wanted dessert (of course they expected this to be comped and it was). a-hole even asked me for the WiFi password to the restaurant—we didn’t even get it as employees.
This is a small example of what happens when this behavior is tolerated. They know the system and they abuse it. I guarantee you they will be back again bc why not, it works.

As she should be, lady is probably working her arse off at a shitty job to support herself and her kids and punks are stealing from her. Can you blame her? It's not the server's place to do what she did.
If stiffing the restaurant is a big problem, it's managements job to do something not the server's.
The restaurant did the right thing when the server was suspended. They were lucky not to be fired.
