Since Landmass has bailed on this thread due to not getting the back slaps he was looking for, I'll ask you:
Just a quick question for you...a simple yes/no will suffice.
If you had to go into a pediatric oncology wing at a hospital for work, or to visit a relative who had a childhood cancer and a suppressed immune system, would you refuse to wear a mask there as well? (simple yes/no answer please)
And if the answer is no, would you come here and post about it looking for e-high fives?
Centinel, feel free to reply as well (though I know what you're going to do)

A homemade cloth mask? a gator? a random mask out of someones pocket/purse... NO.....
A N95 properly fit? Yes...
The unit work we work on has basically found the following results, a properly fit N95, refraining from touching face, proper storage of said mask post patient visit, removing outer gloves between patient Encounters, Gloves, with double gloves( easily removable outer) , Gown, has worked fantastic... Anything else has caused healthcare workers to become infected.......

So you'd turn down the standard mask the hospital would provide? Or you're saying you'd bring your own N95 to do even better than what they provide?

I'd love to see the detail on this, and how infections were directly attributed to masks.

Walked in the ICU earlier and witnessed a nurse walk in a room with a just a mask. No shield, gown, gloves or any of the ppe. Not even N95. Just the thin arse cotton one. All a sham

Argument two, I wear one out in public because the state made it mandatory. Sure, I could be a douche and refuse to wear one and cause a scene while going back and forth with somebody, etc. But I don't want to do that, and don't want to be "that guy". So, I opt to put it on. That's not being a sheep. It's not being an idiot douchebag going against a statewide mandate.
if the mandate is stupid and wrong, and you're unwilling to do anything about it, even simple peaceful civil disobedience, who's the douchebag sheep?
if the state mandated a 1 child policy, would you abort so as not to be 'that douche guy'?
it's just a mask, what's the big deal?
it's just a train ride, whats the big deal?
it's just a group shower, what's the big deal?

Prove they do work
They don’t work, at least as advertised. Pore size for N-95 or even P-100 masks is 300 nm. Corona is about 100 nm. Some mechanical capture of particles but a tight fitted certified NIOSH mask will not stop most virus particles, especially if there is positive pressure between mask and wearer created by something like coughing. Conversely, inhale deeply enough and virus particles can be drawn in through the mask. Distancing, washing hands is best.
Regular face masks? Lol, worthless.

I have not spoken to one physician who believes masks have any impact on COVID transmission.
And I have spoken with well over 100 of them since this casedemic began.
It’s nothing but eye rolls and “whatever helps people feel like they are protected”.

We went drive-thru yesterday. They wouldn't give us our bag of food without putting on a mask.
Meanwhile, the guy at the window made drinks for different orders without changing his gloves, touched his headset and his hair with those same gloves, then touched his mask. Then touched our bag. The person putting food in our bag had on no gloves and a mask below her nose.
Also, they had a plexiglass "window" and at least 6 feet of space between them and customers. But, sure, my mask was the issue.
Wow. Perfect example of how the vast majority of mask wearers accomplish nothing for their safety. And why on earth would you need to wear a mask if there is plexiglass between you and the workers on top of the distance between drivers’ seat and them?

The Lancet disagrees. Don't be offended if I trust them over your likely politically influenced opinion. But hey, this wouldn't be the OT without random people think they know better than actual experts, scientists, public health officials, etc.

Data are accumulating that severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the virus that causes COVID-19, is transmitted by both small and large particle aerosols.

Masking of patients can help to partly reduce infectious aerosol exposures to health-care workers, but are not a substitute for physical distancing and other infection control measures.
I'll translate...masks offer some benefit (read: better than nothing) and should be used in combination with distancing and other measures. Essentially what we've all been saying.
ETA before you even go there...no one has ever claimed that all masks are 100% effective 100% of the time. We've said they're better than nothing, but you guys have been intentionally obtuse trying to avoid acknowledging that

Jesus. The whole point is to knock down the amount of particles and the distance those particles travel so when distancing is unavailable, you don’t cough a 6 foot cloud of virus.

We apparently have a lot of people who don't agree with the laws of physics.
My example about spitting, which a five year old would get, was completely lost on centinel and another poster whose name I don't care enough to look up.
Here's the funny thing...
These guys: MASKS DON'T STOP THE VIRUS
Also these guys: YOU CAN'T BREATHE THROUGH MASKS AND INHALE DANGEROUS CO2
Uh, guys...

better than nothing for a sneezing, coughing person. fine. but we now know the virus isn't a big deal. I changed my mind when the data changed. why haven't you? or why haven't public (read:government) officials?
its ok to say you were wrong, everyone go about your business, we'll protect the elderly and vulnerable, and treat symptomatic ppl properly
but to continue this charade and pretend that only one side is "politically influenced retards" is complete bad faith bullshite.

I like the mask wearing as a fashion statement. I have several LSU ones and others to color coordinate with my wardrobe.
I hope wearing them stays around like wearing a tie. There’s no point in them either anymore but they help make the outfit pop.
