I was looking for an oddball item so I decided to visit the dying mall - found what I was looking for which was great! Thankfully FYE still sold old legacy CDs.

Anyways, the mall was playing 80s music from shite from The Breakfast Club, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Etc

It was surreal walking around the mall and very depressing- This once very popular spot was literally dying - brought back memories of that time in my life where life was just simple back then compared to the shitshow going on today.

Yup, I know the rules “Dear Facebook, TLDR, etc”. But those on here who grew up hanging out at malls can appreciate my story.

It was the music that enhanced the entire experience. Makes me wonder if they purposely play that shite on purpose knowing the mall is on its last leg and they are just celebrating the glory days of the mall

What the hell is a legacy CD, as opposed to a CD?

I think that the trendy outdoor malls that rule now will soon fall out of favour and that newly designed indoor malls will once again become popular.

I'm not saying the current dead indoor malls will come back - there will be new fancier indoor malls with a lot more amenities and better ambience

Was trying to find old music that’s not on Apple, iTunes, Spotify, etc. for a music project I am working on.

Blow a 5 in quarters at the arcade. Swing by footlocker on the way to Orange Julius

ETA: balls beat me to it!

And who doesn’t remember the “old guy” (prob 17) at the arcade with long hair and an Iron Maiden tee that everyone would gather around to watch try to break his own record again in Galaga

The fact that it hasn't gone to shite like Mall of Louisiana or Oakwood is amazing considering New Orleans is right next door.

I love malls. Especially old ones.

The one in Slidell is practically dead. Never really cared for it though.

Gulfport is old but holding up well and pretty cool and busy.

Hammond Square was awesome RIP. Perfect 80s mall.
