I've seen a lot that do. The policy has an exclusion and an attachment, and lists out the dog breeds that will not be covered under the policy. The first thing the adjuster does is interview the owner about the breed and their knowledge of it, and take photos of the dog. And get any paperwork on the sale.
Just an FYI.
But if I were a plaintiff attorney, especially if there is no paperwork indicating a pure breed, I would argue that mixed breeds are not excluded, and try to get something.

I've learned something about people who breed dogs just through observation, they are either trashy as frick or they are really serious about it and really clean.
And I figured out the reason. They are either some trashy fricks looking for an easy way to make money or it is someone who is really passionate and takes it serious, so there is no in between,

I mean a blanket exclusion for all dogs. Unless it’s been tried and knocked down on public policy grounds.

Go to your nearest Petsmart and ask for a tube of Kennedryl. It's like a tetanus shot for dog bites in a small 1 oz tube. It's new to market so you may have to ask a manager.

i met one, they were only semi trashy and had semi passionate. so your theory is wrong.

I once got a client 100k for being bit by a dog.
Average dog bite claim is 900k in the US, I believe.

Did the client get 100k? or did you take your 40% plus expenses out of the 100K?
I hate it when attorneys do not differentiate between the gross settlement and net settlement to the client

is this your punishment for going to a breeder and not rescuing a puppy? #karma

This reminds me of something a guy I grew up with, whose dad is/was a lawyer. He said one day he went to the gas station with his dad and this drunk came ask him for $0.75 and his dad pulled out $2 and gave it to him. He asked his dad why did he give the man money and told him "son, I probably made about $200k off of him, I am sure I will make that $2 back at some point"...

It’s been awhile, but i think she prolly put around $65k in her pocket after our fee and the medicals. We cut our fees regularly.

I think the insurance companies want to stay competitive, and if they just exclude all dogs, they will end up not writing a lot of good risks. The exposure isn't all that great when dealing with a normal dog that bites out of fear and lets go. They want to cover the average person for that mishap.
But like everything else, they have actuaries that study the numbers and know exactly what breeds are causing the most loss. And they simply exclude those. That's just my opinion.

The dad was $2 poorer.
The son didn’t get a puppy.
The drunk laughed at the Dad, the son, and the puppy.
