I used to fish like that in Utah. Look on a topographical map and go down some dirt path. I can't fly fish, but found I could catch well with just a Carolina rig and live worms or under a cork, even on a partially frozen lake/reservoir. Hike back to the campsite, clean the trout and cook with lemon, butter and garlic. I miss those trips.
