Went for a little hike in the woods today with my two dogs. Interesting find...

I recently relocated and have been taking the dogs to different state parks a couple times a week to discover the area. It allows me to learn some new trails in the area and get some exercise in. I’m pretty good in the woods, and grew up in very rural Louisiana. I don’t get spooked easily, and I was pretty spooked today. Anyway, I was at a pretty secluded park this evening (maybe 3/4 cars in the whole parking area. Anyway, couple miles deep in the woods with absolutely nobody else around; I came to a bridge next to a swamp/bog area. Found a book laying on the bridge with a pair of Goo-glee eyes on the front of it. Book was a little wet, but like it had some entries and some dates. Two pens were stuck in it. Figured it might be important to someone, so I planned to maybe leaving it in the parking area for someone. Decided to look inside for a name. No shite, this is what was inside. My recent scribbles were dated 6/25:
Creeped me TF out. Walked the couple miles out with my head on a swivel. Seems like a pretty deranged individual would just leave this in the middle of the woods on a bridge. Imagine then walking a couple miles out of the woods having just found this stuff.
ETA: And F*ck y’all hating on my feet. They are ugly AF though.

Looks like the beginning of season 4 of True Detective.

The second to last page reminds me of something a doped up TulaneLSU would write.

I’m 99% sure this was on creepypasta a few years ago.

Did you happen upon their body?

I'm pretty sure a body lies not too much further ahead...

No, had a pair in my backpack bc I throw the ball into the ponds we come across sometimes and let the dogs go retrieve them. I usually pack a pair of flip flops in case they leave the ball in the water or something. Just something I normally have with me. Gotten hooks in my bare feet a time or two so I pack flip flops.
