Well, that $27 dollar/bottle just went up big time for the “2018 Worlds Best Bourbon”
Get a bottle if you can find it.
Second half of Barton’s building collapsed.

Accidentally upvoted you when I was trying to downvote. WHo the frick drinks Vodka from Kentucky? This bottle of bourbon just beat several Pappy’s and other $200/bottles in the latest “Worlds Best Bourbon” tasting.

So, they thought it a good idea to store 20K barrels, each weighing in excess of 500 lbs. on wooden racks in what is basically a huge tin shed and lets stack them 30+ high. Yeah, that will be OK.

Could they not take the barrels out of the side that was still standing?

It was in the middle of having a wall repaired when it initially collapsed.
That kind of structure also works for every other distiller in the region. And has for years.

You laugh but that shite will kill thousands of fish in no time.

Goddamn, you're a fricking idiot.

Yeah, but they had to make sure the other half of the building was safe first and wouldn't collapse on them. We see that this was a wise choice.
I'm curious how many barrels they'll be able to salvage.

Surely that can salvage some of it. They can call it the Survivor Batch and charge $270 per bottle.

Musta been designed by aggies.

Wheatley vodka from Buffalo Trace is good stuff. Most of these whiskey places make vodka to help subsidize their whiskey production.

Not too sure about that. It looks to me that the distillery is kind of looking like the idiots now.

Alcohol is a big time fish toxin. It's actually a serious concern to contain it.

Looks like a lot of the barrels are still intact. The only problem I see is finding out which ones were aged the longest and which ones were needing to be aged much longer.
I'm assuming they mark the barrels in some way to help identify their time in the barrels aging.
Not really sure how them being jostled around so violently will disturb any sediment that may be in the barrels or how long it will take before they can bottle it.

This is starting to sound like insurance fraud

I wish they'd have gone with arson, then. That would have been SPECTACULAR.

Hope this shuts down the Truthers for good. Neither half needed jet fuel to collapse.
