Driving down 460 south of West Liberty and barley got across large amount of water that is overflowing the Licking River. Luckily, I am on high ground on the highway, but unfortunately the water is too high the south and north of me.

Thank goodness for the the phone and I filled up a full tank of gas. I my be stuck here for some time.

ETA. Those going to ask, I am in a Ford Escape (company car). No way the car can get through the deep water.

ETA: Just watched a dumbass get his little truck stuck in the water. The water was up to his waist. The neighbors who live on this stretch told me it will be late tonight or early morning before the water recedes.

Thanks y’all, started this thread to entertain me.

The company fleet would not take so kindly if I explained I drive through waist deep water.

It’s amazing how quickly the water got so high in a short amount of time.

That was me.

There was also our fellow user, Pisco, who is an Alabama fan living in Mayfield, Kentucky which was largely obliterated by an EF-4 tornado back in December.

News in east Tennessee is reported loss of life from those floods, so, count your blessings.
This part of the world is just beginning to understand the danger of so-called training storms.

That was legit rain last night/this morning. When you have a storm topping 5"/hr rates in those type hills and hollers there ain't much you can do.
