Can’t speak to the rest of it, but I haven’t seen anything suggesting that she held up a bill over abortion funding.

Why are so many asshats on here claiming this was a vote on the final bill? IT WAS NOT!

It was a vote to fire cloture to move to floor debate.

The issue you have with the bill (500B to companies) could have and would have been easily solved after voting to file cloture and rectify it with the house version.

THE ISSUE IS THIS: WE DO NOT HAVE THE TIME TO WORRY ABOUT IDEOLOGY. PEOPLE HAVE NO JOBS AND NO MONEY RIGHT NOW. YOU SOMETIMES HAVE TO SWALLOW THE GOOD WITH THE BAD. PEOPLE NEED frickING MONEY.

it was going to pass easily until pelosi flew in and blew it up.

Several aides for Dem Senators were pointing out problems with it before Pelosi said anything about it. Perhaps it was still going to pass had she not spoken up, but she was far from the first one to speak up about it.

About as trustworthy as Pelosi, which means not at all.

Do you at least admit that it was dems who blocked it from passing?

That won't be a good look politically when people the government forced out of work aren't getting any money....

This is THE MOST INAPPROPRIATE TIME to stall a bill because of ideological concerns.

SCHUMER YESTERDAY MORNING was praising the "bipartisan work in the senate".

Andrew Yang was trying to do it - the establishment media refused to give him any coverage or treat him as a real candidate. Or his ideas were too new and revolutionary to gain traction. He seems to have had a lasting impact on the conversation though.

the fact that we need to issue an emergency bill during a crisis is an embarrassment in itself

we should already have a policy in place when shite like this happens with exact details on money distribution etc

Do you agree it is fricky not to release the names of the companies receiving bailouts (and amounts) until after the election?

Beyond the legality, you really want a president to have authority to authorize 2 trillion dollars without Congress?

Because there's no way a president would ever potentially misuse that, right?

Not a dem. But I’m glad this is held up. The stimulus of cash for clunkers, cash to the people, and other items did nothing to save the economy during the housing bust in 2008.
