That’s so crazy that I’m identical to you in these symptoms yet my exbf that I had COVID at the same time with never lost smell and has no altered smells like we do. You ever smelled the Livingston landfill? That’s what it all is to me. And dog and human poo and farts all smell identical. It’s hard to talk about this with just anybody not everyone understands

Drove by it all the time before corona! It’s almost exactly the same. Doesn’t matter if it’s solid, gas, or liquid form it all smells the same now! And the shite lingers, or the smell of shite at least.

Same with me, can’t smell poop. Actually I smell something but can’t describe the smell, it’s unlike anything I have smelled before. Weird

Everything smells like the faint smell of automobile exhaust

The wife(no pics) has this exact symptom. We both had covid july 2021. We both lost taste and smell the first week of covid. Regained it slowly after 2 weeks. Now in the past few weeks she randomly smelled butter. In the past two days she smells car exhaust and gasoline fumes all day. She can smell everything else normal. Luckily for her, so far, her food doesn't taste bad.

Seems lots of folks post covid have this. Anyone else post covid getting this and how long this goes on? Most of what we’ve read is phantosmia resolves itself when your olefactory receptors relearn smells. Phantosmia can happen after viral infections but the symptoms are horrible for her. Constant.

She has essential earls to try but understands they arent miracle workers either

my friend had Covid 11 months ago (January 2021) and lost smell and taste...it has not come back. Doc has tried steroids for her and still nothing. I can't imagine how depressing it must be to not be able to enjoy smells and tastes.

There is a signature “burnt” smell I only smell around certain things. Chick-fil-a grilled nuggets bring it back the strongest for some reason. I’ve only ever recognized this signature smell post-covid

I am in the same situation. This is a burnt coffee/stale wine/metallic smell.

I’ve had the same problem and it’s been almost a year. It’s getting a little better but it’s annoying as hell.

Maybe you are joking, not certain. But if not, I have also noted a very diff taste to semen since I got the Asian flu. So maybe you joke, but still good advice even so

Take a trip on the time machine to say 3 years ago. What if someone told you then that there was going to be a pandemic and a bunch of people would lose their sense of smell and take aromatherapy as the cure to get there smell back.

Y'all would be rolling on the floor laughing your arse off at this person. And here we are.

This. I noticed it about a month after COVID. Closest thing I can compare it to is the smell you get after turning heat on for the first time each year. And it's only with certain things. Tuna fish, coffee, peanut butter are the main ones I can think of. After a year, it's better but still there. Never lost taste or smell.

The taste hasn't changed and I don't notice it with tuna anymore, but peanut butter still smells like shite. And I love some peanut butter. Peanuts smell fine. Weird shite.

Oh yeah, my farts and poo smell horrible to me, and it's like my sense of smell is extra sensitive to it. My wife says she thinks it's way better since I quit eating peanut butter. Go figure.

All these people buying into the media narrative about “Covid” changing smell and taste. It’s all in your head.
