Some of you know I am currently in India. Anyways, my hair got too long and needed a haircut. I picked a place close to my grandparent's house and went for a haircut. First, this dude with a diamond stud, red polo, and popped collar walks up begging to do my haircut. He then sits me down and starts rubbing my hair and head as he talks to my mom about the kind of haircut I should get. Then he closes his eyes, stuffs his nose into my hair and says "sir, I would love to wash your hair". Weird as hell. And no, my hair did not smell bad, rather, no way it smelled worse than the putrid body odor from his under-arms. Anyways, share away if you have had odd experiences with haircuts.

India is an absolute shithole. Few places in the world are worse at hiding their poverty. At least african villages are set in beautiful landscapes.

Indian poor people live in the middle of dirty cities.

I agree with you 100%. The only nice places are in the rich areas (obviously).

They had a couple Indian fellows that would cut hair at one smallish FOB I was at in AFG. My buddy got his hair cut and asked me if I thought it was weird that the Indian fellow massaged his neck/back for five minutes after.

Different cultures brah...or maybe gay hairdressers cross cultures and boundaries.

I got my hair cut by a real flamboyant barber once. He cut great hair but kept dropping the comb in my lap.

A buddy of mine went to a one man barber shop where the barber was deaf. You had to write the type of hiarcut you wanted on a dry erase board.

So traditionally I've always gone to a barber shop. Used to love to be able to shoot the shite about whatever is going on. I live in a place now where the only decent cut I can get is just for him. All women. These broads just don't know how to escalate a conversation. So I quit trying. Now I just sit and get my haircut with barely speaking. I always find it awkward.
