is there a good flashlight app?

i like power toggles because it has a flashlight shortcut as well.

best part of power toggles is you can create a 'folder' on the desktop with all the shortcuts in it so it doesnt clutter everything up. i have toggles for

- auto brightness
- flashlight
- wifi on/off
- bluetooth on/off
- shutdown/restart/recovery menu
- gps on/off
- sound on/off
- all sound sliders

The pandora app made my day, I fricking hate ads & limited skips. Does it ever need to be updated?

no. unless pandora comes out with some amazing new feature, this one is pretty solid.

you got 'shuffle', 'add variety', chromecast, etc. so its basically everything that exists with pandora right now.

eta all this pandora talk is 'hypothetically speaking' of course we're speculating what would be cool in an alternative pandora

Bluetooth connect and Play - lets you select which app automatically boots up when you connect to the bluetooth in your car (so instead of it always booting to your native music player, you can make it automatically start Spotify, Pocketcast, etc..)

CamScanner - basically uses your phone's camera to turn a document into a PDF. GoogleDrive also has this function too.

Gravity Screen - you can set your phone to wake up and go to black screen when you take it out and put it in your pocket. Can also set it to go to black screen when you set your phone on down on the screen. Good way to not have to use a lockscreen. Worthless if you pincode protect your phone.

Quickpic - replacement gallery app. Best one out there IMO

Shuttle music player - nice looking music player, card/kitkat type UI.

Google Rewards - it will randomly send you survey (very short) to complete. Upon completion, it gives you Google play credit (sometimes it's a shite amount like 0.18, other times you can get a couple of bucks).

Timely - really good replacement app for your stock clock/alarm/timer/etc.

Gmail markasread - app that allows you to mark gmail emails as read from the notification bar.

None of these require root. I'm not currently rooted as I'm waiting for AT&T to get off their arses and update the Note 3 to kitkat (I think the reason they are delaying so bad is due to a GPS error that they are trying to fix)

cool!! will this also work with bluetooth devices?? i have bluetooth overload. at home i have a jambox, bt radio upstairs, onkyo with bluetooth and my bluetooth laptop (and bluetooth pioneer radio) so i'm juggling my bluetooth connections constantly..my wife gets pissed if my phone "bullies" hers and takes over the jambox.

how can i get my piece of shite nexxus 7 tablet to play amazon instant video without putting Dolphin and turning off all the security settings?

You can't. Blame Amazon as they are the reason you can't, not Google.

In the app it will show all the things paired to your device. you can pick different apps for different things (like pocketcast for your car, spotify for your home system, etc)

That's really all it does. If your jambox is recognizing your device over your wife's, this is probably not going to help.

i'm not sure its the same thing we're talking about.

adaway - knocks out all the banner ads in apps, etc.

adblocker - knocks out ads in chrome/browsers on your phone

i could be wrong, but i think maybe root is needed to clean out ads in apps.

I love textra. It's my go to now. They smoothed it over a lot. The only issues are pictures.

It's more than just Chrome. But if it's not rooted, you have to configure a proxy, and I guess it's just for wifi. LINK

Just saw your edit, yea I guess it may just be made for browsers. Though it definitely works on other apps. But I saw someone recommend it on a forum somewhere and the thread was about getting rid of banner ads on facebook and ads on Pandora. I haven't had any ads on Facebook since I downloaded it, and I swear for the first few days I didn't get a single ad on Pandora (not sure why they started up again).

I wish someone would make a decent browser with an exit button. How freaking hard is that?

Tasker is an awesome app. It is an automated app that you can plug in different scenarios for your phone to handle.

Example: At work I like to use the wifi to conserve battery and data. However, it blocks some images and I can't look at NSFW stuff on TD. If I want to switch to the phone I can have a tasker setting that automatically turns off wifi whenever I go into chrome and back on when I get off.

I can automatically turn on data or wifi when it reads a certain cell tower or wifi signal also.

I've actually made the switch to Spotify for the music library.

Also, what's the reasoning behind using an app like Textra or GO SMS? Is there something people dislike about the stock app? I've never noticed a problem.
