i'm torn with paying $100 extra to get the 'sear burner' but considering 95% of what i do on the grill now is steaks, this seems like a nice feature.

is it worth the extra $100?

I bought the 310 in late spring after going back and forth between the two. Just cooked 10 or so steaks this weekend for Father's Day along with skewered chicken tenders. Everything came out perfect. I coudn't be happier, and I'm glad I didn't drop the extra on the sear burner.

I grill nearly perfect steaks ( we eat them rare to medium rare, with few exceptions) on a Weber Q320 - I cannot imagine getting a return on a $100 "sear burner".

If you will use it then it is worth it.

If you won't use it then it's not worth it.

Don't you also get a side burner on the 330 that you don't get with the 310?

I never use the side burner on my Weber. Even when I cook something like a pot of beans, I just throw the pot on the grill.

330 SE is what I have, love the sear feature.

The SE comes with stainless grates and an enamele exterior. That's what I wanted; never have been a big fan of cast iron grates, but didn't want the stainless exterior.

Yeah, me neither, but I don't think you can get one without the other.

The 310 doesn't include the side burner. But with the side burner comes extra counter space. Tough call if you don't have cabinets and counters to build your grill into.

I use the side burner on my Weber to light my charcoal chimney when I use my charcoal grill

Been debating this and if I should run a natural gas line on my patio or just get the propane version.

Give us an update once you made your decision.

I've got the 310, and you don't need the sear section. It can get pretty hot on its own, I usually crank up the right side and sear it there then move over to other section of grill on lower temp.

will do. i put a cap on our propane line (we have a propane tank) near where i plan to keep the grill so in theory i should just be able to hook it to that rather than purchase propane in tanks.

The sear feature will pay for itself. You and your guests will enjoy steaks that much more, trust me.

It's essentially comparing a home grill to that of an average to above average steak house when done right.

Don't you need to purchase a regulator to "convert" the natural gas to propane? Please educate me on this process.
