weather one uppers?

Why does every red neck try to one up everyone every time a little weather comes thru? We get it. You live 100 miles away from where you work and it was prob a little cooler last night there than it was in the city.
However, I had to finally shut one of these fishing shirt wearing arse clowns down today as everytime someome mentioned cool weather, then someone mentioned how colder it was at his place, then he followed with having a frost at his house.
Dude, it’s 70 degrees. Is there really a need for that -150 degrees carhart winter coat you’re wearing????

If you think that's bad, the other day at work I made a comment about people one-upping each other about the weather and this lady said "If you think that's bad, every time I mention weather around my mother she tries to convince me it's worse where she lives. you should definitely buy a fishing shirt. I never understood why my grandad wore long sleeve's fishing (God rest his soul) but as i've gotten older i realized i don't like putting on goopy sunscreen every 90 minutes and I don't like getting sunburnt.
Plus with even a little breeze it feels like you are shirtless. I wish my grandad would have gotten to have one of these new age fishing shirts. I'm sure he is smiling down in heaven on us right now wearing one laughing at us cause it is 54 degrees in heaven.
