If I weren't so lazy I'd like to go through all the WFHs in this thread post history to see how many posts were made during working hours. My suspicion is that most of you are lazy fricks perusing TD instead doing your jobs a lot of the time.

Let me guess: you have extremely high employee turnover?

Just got to the office. It didn’t seem like there were any issues on the road so you should be good. See ya soon!

Then why are so many WFHs so insecure and defensive about their WFH positions?

Work from home is a disaster for 98% of people. Of course 100% of the OT are self starters and inexplicably more efficient working from home, but we know that's bullshite.

This is moronic. I’m working from home as we speak. Dicking around on TD. I’d be doing the same throughout the day in an office setting. I am very much a procrastinator. But even working from home I still have regular “meetings” with my boss, customers, and other departments to keep me on track. I still have deadlines to meet. Are you under the impression that most WFH companies hand you a laptop and say “Good luck! Talk to you in 6 months!”?

I feel bad for these little work from homers that don’t realize that robots are gonna take their jobs in like 6 months

Kinda sad that they don’t have a skill that’s too hard for robots to learn like welding.

As an employee, I very rarely ask. I anm the one who always showed o, would find alternative child care, etc. Our firm will allow us in circumstances, Covid changed things. But it doesn’t really “like” it. I’m old school though and will usually be at the office barring something urgent. But my days of going in during tropical storms, rare icy roads, etc. are over. I’ve seen 2 employees, cars get flooded on way home from work in past years bc office didn’t close. Back then it had to close as there was not remoting/laptops. One of my bosses and I both slid on ice going to the office a few years ago because was open if you could make it in (pre-Covid/remoting), never again. So, to answer your question, it depends. I put me first now.

Good thing that no one who works in an office environment never fricks around on the internet…………………. Look, no human being is going to work every single minute of a 9 or 10 hour work day.. difference is, in an office you have to deal with fluorescent lighting, office politics and water cooler BS.. whereas at home, for those of us with even a smidge of self-discipline- we can get more work done with fewer distractions, depending of course on your own personal home environment .

I don’t get why there is so much angst against people that like to WFH. I get way more done when people aren’t constantly in my office distracting me with pointless stuff.

If they can be productive at home why does it matter?

Now obviously if they always work from home and are falling behind yeah it’s a problem. But if they’re getting all their work done in the required time why is it a problem?

I'm under no impressions. You sound like a terrible employee though so good luck unless you have an idiotic company paying you.

Same as you and all the other Office Warriors posting on here. I’ll get my shite done even though I’m not beholden to some outdated schedule.
