Which is funny because one of the things the protestors, or whatever you want to call them, would say in his case (and for many of the other recent cases) was that his past criminal activity didn't matter.

But for these statues the unseemly past of that person outweighs their great deeds.

There really are people who hold this view? You view things this way?
I have so much to say about that that I am speechless.
What grade are you in?

Literally every single person in history has done at least one thing in their lives that'd be considered wrong by modern society.

I believe it's true that for example full time Walmart employees still receive gov benefits. In essence, Walmart can pay so little to workers Bc the taxpayer picks up the slack. Thus, the taxpayers subsidize employers like Walmart.

That's the argument. Gov subsidies shouldn't be necessary for anyone who actually works full time.

I don't know if it's all true or not. But the argument does make some sense.

So you advocate for the removal of every single statue anywhere in the county correct?

If you don't advocate and believe in the the removal of every single monument and statue please explain why.

When the NO school board lost its power and money another source of corruption and crappy performance was lost. Think of the current corrupt inept Sewage and Water Board but worse.

the welfare state has encouraged this behavior by mega employers especially in the service industry. The answer is to fix the entitlement economy not to force employers to do something not in their best interests

if you want capitalism (and you do) then we cannot continue to fund this uneducated subsidy lifestyle

If we are scrubbing people from history based on their personal lives we need to get to work on every single statue, street sign and memorial for MLK. Talk about someone who made horrible personal choices despite having done some great deeds.

That is a prime example of the government inserting itself into a market and creating an artificial situation where there is no natural balance. A free market would work these matters out without the insertion of public funds. Now that the intervention has been applied it can never be taken back because of politics and will only grow in size and scope.
And that is another huge win for the communists.

Several of our founding fathers owned and slept with slaves
FDR interned Asian Americans
Johnson heavily recruited blacks to go to Vietnam
Reagan probably condemened several gays to die of AIDS
Bush started an unnecessary war that killed thousands
Clinton borderline kicked gays out of the military as well as escalating a situation that killed dozens in Waco
Obama droned a lot of brown people.
Nelson Mandela killed people in inhumane ways
MLK broke the law and had numerous affairs

If you want to you can find stupid things to demonize every sinful man in the history of existence. There is a reason they were honored. Some are valid, some are not. Our heroes are flawed people, to expect different is foolish.

To try and erase them from history is more foolish.

Should every high school kid wanting a job get a living wage? Minimum wage jobs do not equal careers.
