I noticed that too when I moved away. It was a shock to not have trash everywhere, smooth roads, and not having to be on constant alert when getting into and out of my car.

very true. Had the same experience years ago.

Have a friend now divesting his properties and bailing next year. He said he never thought he'd be at this point but that it was "10x worse after the pandemic."

Has had his car stolen earlier this year and his new one broken into last week. He's done.

Told me homeless are using the kids playgrounds uptown and sent me a picture of panties and a needle at the same park. Horrible.

Brother, my wife and I made the move out of the NOLA area in May and have been incredibly pleased with our decision. Life is simply better.

Nobody wants to admit it, but anywhere you are in New Orleans, you are a block away from a world of shite. There are no "good" areas. Shitty police force magnifies this. Shitty government, shitty roads, shitty public services. shite, shite, shite.

Side note: I brought my daughter to school this morning... The streets are so fricked up around Dominican it's just laughable. With construction, that was started but not even close to finished, Walmsley is completely blocked off, so I usually come down Burdette from Earhart, and that street is a complete cluster. Leaving, going up Pine Street, to Earhart, is like driving on a country dirt road... I really don't know how the people that live around there put up with it.

Yup, I’m in Mid City and in my immediate area, we’ve been under drainage and street construction for 2 years.

These assholes won’t finish an intersection completely before tearing up another one. Every day leaving and coming home is a new shitty adventure of which intersection is blocked off now.

I’m so fricking tired of this shite. Incompetence would be an improvement for how these garbage leaders run this city.

And people just accept it like this is the way it’s supposed to be.

Living in New Orleans is like being a battered wife. Making excuses until you finally are free and realize how bad it was and how life doesn't have to be that way.

I'm not making fun of you, I did the same thing years ago until I left and realized it.

Nope.

Sorry you live in NOLA. Enjoy your shattered windows, carjackings, shitty roads, shitty police, shitty job market, shitty economy, zero scenery, and bringing your own trash to the dump.

Yup...

Every street around Dominican is completely fricked up. Walmsley, Burdette, Pine and Fig. Even Broadway, around the corner is fricked up.

My daughter is in eighth grade, I told her they might have it finished by the time she graduates.

Jefferson parish did work on Severn, by Rummel, this summer. They had it finished and striped by the time school started.

All the "red" voters electing Honor Code to two terms proves the lie. 90% of the "Republicans" from LA are converted Democrats that still vote communist when they think the voters aren't looking. LA is Purple at best.

It has been, and it's behind, because it's a complete re-build with new sewerage lines. But I'll give them this, they're taking the blame and doing what they can to get it wrapped up.

New Orleans doesn't give two fricks...

Bro, I get it. You really like the idea of New Orleans. But I think deep down, you realize what a clown show the city has become. The place is straight up trashy. And by 'trashy', I mean there's actually trash everywhere. fricked up streets. Crime anywhere and everywhere. I had to run an errand in Mid City this morning and just looked around thinking, where do the tax dollars actually go in this place??

Well that is not true.

Louisiana is a disaster of politics and up there with Georgia as disgraces to the SEC.
